If you are applying to 'Enter' the UK you are required to select below 'Main Applicant'

If you plan to enter or join family members who are sponsoring you, you must select Partner and Children.

Main applicant could be visiting the UK, coming to study, being sponsored under employment or operating a business.

If a partner or family member are not applying with you or to join you in the UK, then they become the main applicant.
